Our coaching staff makes our classes possible.


 

Max Marx

Adult Coach, USTA Certified


Max is our adult instructor. He has worked with a large amount of the North Seattle tennis community for the last 5 years giving private instruction to individuals and groups. He currently plays on multiple USTA teams. You may also spot him playing in local tournaments. We are excited to have him on board here at IATC!

Available for individual / group adult lessons.

Mary Kubalanza

Pickleball Instructor

Mary is our Pickle ball coach. Previously a seasoned tennis player, Mary made the transition to pickle ball. You may also see her crushing the pickle ball courts at Harbor Square where she also teaches.

Colby Weller

Youth Head Coach

Colby leads our Youth Program, bringing significant experience in coaching as well as competing in tennis at a high level. With years of experience as both a high school and private coach, Colby is passionate about creating a fun, encouraging environment where players of all ages and abilities can learn, improve, and truly enjoy the game.

Available for individual / group adult lessons.


Lily Distelhorst

Youth Assistant Coach


Lily has been coaching both adult and junior tennis since 2024. She played tennis at Edmonds-Woodway High School and at Bellevue College. She is currently studying Exercise Science at Seattle Pacific University with interest in pursuing a career in Physical Therapy or Athletic Training. She plays USTA tennis and occasionally in an Open tournament. I am lucky to have been introduced to an amazing community of people who love tennis! You might also see her at Harbor Square Tennis Center.

Sebastian Sanchez

Youth Team Assistant

Sebastian is spending his fifth summer working for the program! Next year, Seb will be a Shorewood senior and co-captain of the varsity tennis team.

Riley Boyd

Youth Team Assistant

Riley is a recent graduate of Shorewood High School and Innis Arden Tennis. With Shorewood, he won the Wesco District Doubles Championship and has competed at the state level three years in a row.
Outside of tennis, he enjoys soccer, basketball and is part of the IA Swim Team. He plans to study business in college.  (College announcement coming soon!)
