About the Program

Learn more about our Tennis Program and the classes available to help you build your skills. Our Program has been developed to serve the community and includes classes designed for kids and adults of varying levels.

Registration:

  • Residents are able to register for classes 1 week prior to non-resident/public registration.

  • If you’re unsure which class is best for you or your child, please contact us.

 

YOUTH

ALLEY CATS
ages 5-8

Summer: M/W or T/TH

45 minute class 2x per week


This class is generally recommended for kids 5-8 years old. A great introduction for those with minimal formal tennis exposure. We’ll use games and fun to introduce participants to ground strokes, volleys and serves. Class is taught on a smaller court with lighter, easier to hit tennis balls.

  • Learn the fundamentals of tennis!

  • Track & make contact with the ball.

ROOKIES
ages 9-11

Summer: M/W or T/TH

45 minute class 2x per week


This class is generally recommended for kids 9-11. Geared towards learning and continuing to build tennis skills in a fun and positive environment. This class will be taught in service boxes, working our way up to a 60 ft. court.

  • Players have a foundational understanding of the game and know the fundamentals of ground strokes, volleys and serves.

  • Emphasis will be on developing strokes, building up to rally to 10.

  • Learn sections of the court.

  • Learn & practice score keeping and other tennis etiquette.

JR TEAM
ages 11+

Summer: M/W or T/TH

1 hour class 2x per week


Players will get to practice match play, preparing for Team. We’ll work on building court confidence, ability to hit ground strokes and further skills and court understanding.

  • Players have a solid understanding of the game.

  • Can confidently play using basic strokes.

  • Can serve the ball on a 60 ft. court, building to full court.

TEAM
ages 13+

Summer: M/W/F -1 hr practice 2x per week & 1 match


Matches typically start 2nd week of July. Fridays are World Team Tennis, where Team plays matches against other local clubs including Klahaya, Aqua Club and others.

Team members will be assigned M/W - 1 hour practice time based on skill level.

Players are ready for competitive matches likely play high school tennis. Players must have a very solid understanding of tennis rules, court etiquette and have the ability to keep score. Players will get to play singles and doubles. Players are dedicated to practice and enjoy playing competitively. We will work on consistency of ground strokes, volleys, approach shots, lobs. Must be able to serve from the baseline.


ADULT

Adult Beginner

Tuesdays/Thursdays
9:00 – 10:00am

These classes are designed to give adults an opportunity to play and learn with others. Instruction will cover fundamental tennis strokes. No previous tennis experience is required. Considerable amount of instruction will be given to developing and refining ground strokes, volleys, and serves. Participants Learn through specific stroke drills and match play.

USTA + Doubles Strategy

(spring/summer)

Tuesdays/Thursdays
8am – 9am

Must play on a USTA team to register. This class is geared for 3.5 and above. Get specific strategy for Doubles. 

Here are some of the strategies we will work on; staggered positioning, drop volleys, targeting, and return of serve. 

 

Adult Intermediate

Mondays/Wednesdays
9:00-10:00am

This class is for adults who have some general knowledge of tennis. Adults could have gone through our beginner program, or could have played competitively a long time ago.

Advanced Drill Class

Wednesday Evenings
Not Offered this Session

This class is for people who have some competitive tennis experience. Players who have played USTA at a 3.5-4.5 level would be good to sign up for this class.
